Why Latin America for finance & accounting.
The Big Four have large offices in Mexico City, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Lima and Santiago, and those offices train accountants on US clients. Many senior accountants in the region have already worked on US GAAP books for US companies. The time zone means your close happens during your day, and a question from your auditor at 4 PM gets answered at 4 PM.

A good fit when
- You have a controller or CFO, and the team under them is stretched.
- You are paying a US bookkeeping firm per hour and want a dedicated person instead.
Not the right tool when
- You need a US CPA to sign filings. We can place someone who prepares them; the signing accountant stays in the US.

Related roles
01Do nearshore accountants know US GAAP?
The ones we place do, and we test it. Many trained at Big Four offices in Latin America on US clients. We do not place someone on US books who has only worked under local standards.
02Can they work in our QuickBooks or NetSuite?
Yes. They work inside your accounts with the permissions you set. Nothing moves to a system you do not control.
03Is it safe to give a nearshore hire access to bank accounts?
Treat it the way you would treat a US hire: role-based permissions, approval limits, a signed NDA and data terms in the contract. Most clients give view access first and payment approval rights to their own controller.
04Can I hire a nearshore accountant through staffing or recruitment?
Either. With nearshore staffing, nearshore.now employs the accountant in their country and you pay a flat monthly fee. With nearshore recruitment, we run the same search and vetting, and you hire the accountant directly for a one-time fee.
